기술철학적 관점에서 본 SF 성장소설과 인간-비인간의 앙상블 : 천선란의 『천 개의 파랑』을 중심으로

본고는 기술철학적 관점에서 천선란의 『천 개의 파랑』을 연구대상으로, 인간과 기계(비인간)의 새로운 관계성에 주목고자 하였다. 기계와 인간의 공존을 긍정하는 시몽동의 기술철학적 사유와 개체화론을 바탕으로, 휴머노이드가 보여주는 양립 불가능하고 불일치하는 것들(인간과 비인간) 사이를 연결하는 관계성은 기술과 인간이 함께하는 서사를 통해 인간 중심의 휴머니즘과 다른 새로운 휴머니즘을 꿈꾸게 한다.

소설의 초반부에서 인간과 비인간을 매개하는 기술적 개체(기계) C-27은 동물과 로봇, 두 비인간 개체를 매개하였다면, 콜리로서의 삶에서는 개체를 관통하는 인간과 비인간과의 연대가 이루어진다. 기계를 만지고, 부품을 조합하고, 설계의 작동 방식을 설명할 때 가장 빛나는 인간 우연재는 기술적 대상과의 연합(소프트 휠체어)을 통해 발명가-기술적 주체로 거듭난다. 연재가 보여주는 ‘영 어덜트(Young Adult)’성은 기술적 앙상블을 구축할 줄 아는 새로운 휴머니즘 ‘발명가-기술자로서의 인간’의 모습을 소환하기에 다분히 SF적 성장소설이라 할 만하다.

시몽동의 존재론이자 인식론을 대표하는 개체화론의 핵심은 독립성이 아니라 관계성에 있다. 경주마를 주로에 세우기 위한 휴머노이드(기술적 개체)와 자매의 파트너십은 설득과 동맹을 무기로 우호적 환경을 넓혀간다. 생명의 호흡을 함께 느끼며 스스로를 경주마의 파트너라고 말하는 휴머노이드, 기계의 통역자이자 조정자인 발명가-기술적 주체, 동물을 유일한 친구로 둔 장애를 지닌 소녀, 경마장이라는 자본의 논리에 묶이면서도 동물권을 사수하는 수의사, 공익과 생명권 사이에서 생명권을 선택하는 언론인은 기술적 대상을 매개로 경주마를 살리기 위한 연합 환경(milieu)인 것이다. 기술적 개체가 존재론적 기반을 넘어 초월적 연대를 조직화할 수 있는 근거는 정서적 감동에 있다. 기술적 개체와 인간의 연대, 인간-비인간의 앙상블은 결국 안락사를 앞둔 경주마의 생명을 지켜주자는 청원으로 이어져 투데이에게 진짜 초원을 선물하는 계기로 이어진다.

This paper aims to pay attention to the new relationship between humans and machines (non-human) as the subject of the study of Cheon Seon-ran's A Thousand blue from the perspective of technological philosophy. Simondon affirmed the coexistence of machines and humans through technology philosophy and individualization theory. Simondon emphasized the relationship between connecting and communicating between humans and non-humans because independent individuals are created in a multi-layered relationship.

Act 1 of C-27, a technical individuation that connects humans and non-human beings, dealt with the relationship between animals and robots, while Act 2, called collie, is linked to humans and non-human beings. Human coincidences that shine the most when touching machines, combining parts, and explaining how designs work are reborn as 'inventors-technical subjects' through association with technical individuation. Young Adult, shown by Woo Yeon-jae, is an SF Bildungsroman because it summons the appearance of a new humanism “inventor-human as an engineer” who can build a technical ensemble.

The center of Simondon's theory of individualization is not independence, but relationship. The partnership between technical subjects and sisters creates an alliance through persuasion. Humanoid, inventor-technical subject, girl with disability with animals as her only friend, veterinarian who protects animal rights, and journalist who chooses life rights are united milieu to save Today through technological objects. Technological objects, human solidarity, and human-non-human ensembles eventually lead to a petition to protect the life of a racehorse ahead of death, leading to an opportunity to present real grasslands to Today.
