감정 주체의 행방 : 박경리의 초기 단편 소설 세계를 중심으로

1984년에 발표한 문학적 자전에서 박경리는 자기 문학의 뿌리가 존엄과 소외라는 단어에 닿아있다고 단언하였다. 가난 역시 삶에 커다란 상처를 남겼지만 그보다 더 선명한 흉터는 인간으로서의 존엄이 훼손된 경험에서 비롯되었다는 것이다. 이 경험이란 다름 아닌 젠더 관련 폭력을 의미하는 것이었다. 일련의 사건을 겪을 때마다 박경리는 격렬한 수모감을 느꼈고 그 수모감이야말로 소외의 근거로써 자기 안에 각인되어 있다고 했다. 1926년에 태어나 1955년 데뷔를 했고, 격동하는 세월을 온몸으로 통과하며 창작 활동을 지속했던 박경리 문학의 기저에서는 이렇듯 수모감이라는 감정이 놓여있었다. 여성으로 살아가면서 피할 수 없었던 타자화의 경험, 그에 굴하지 않으려는 의지를 담보한 이 감정이 박경리의 삶과 문학의 가장 내밀한 곳에서 박동했던 셈이다. 그리고 이를 여실히 드러내는 것은 바로 1950년대 단편소설의 세계이다. 이에 이 논문에서는 지금까지 크게 조명받지 못했던 ｢계산｣, ｢흑흑백백｣, ｢전도｣를 대상 삼아 박경리의 초기소설에 나타난 감정 주체의 형상과 방법론적 수치심의 쓰기에 관해 논구해보고자 한다.

In the autobiography published in 1984, Pak Kyongni assured that the origin of her literature was related to the words, ‘dignity’ and ‘alienation.’ Poverty resulted in the significant wound in her life, but the experience to be damaged for her dignity as a human-being made bigger scar. This experience means the violence related to gender. Whenever Pak experienced a series of incidents, she felt big sense of shame and the sense of shame was imprinted as an evidence of alienation, she said. She was born in 1926 and made her debut in 1955. In the foundation of Pak’s literature that continued the creative activities passing the drastically changing times, there are the underlying senses of shame.

It seemed that the inevitable experience of otherizing as a woman and the feeling to secure the will not to be defeated were originated from the innermost part of her life and literature. What this is clearly revealed is the world of short stories in 1950s. Hence, this study is to review the subject of feelings occurred in her early short fictions (chapter 2) and methodological writing of sense of shame (chapter 3) in the subjects with ‘Calculation(계산),’ ‘Black and White(흑흑백백),’ and ‘Scissors(전도)’ which had not been highlighted to date.
