오디세우스 마스터플롯의 여성적 전도 과정 : ｢무진기행｣의 대항서사들을 중심으로
초록
이 논문은 우선 소설의 플롯을 삶의 욕망과 죽음의 충동 사이의 긴장이 마련하는 역동적 공간으로 분석한 피터 브룩스의 모델에 성적 관계에 대한 프로이트의 논의로부터 도입한 인물 구도를 결합한 ‘오디세우스 마스터플롯’을 설정했다. 이 마스터플롯이 근대 소설 전반에 걸쳐 여러 가지 형태로 변주되고 있으며 그 변주의 방식에서 시대적 성격을 살펴볼 수 있다는 것이 이 논문의 전제를 이루고 있다. 이 글은 그와 같은 전제를 바탕으로 오디세우스 마스터플롯을 전형적으로 보여주는 ｢무진기행｣과 그 대항서사라고 할 수 있는 『도가니』(공지영), ｢오직 한 사람의 차지｣(김금희), 『다른 사람』(강화길), ｢넌 쉽게 말했지만｣(이주란) 등을 비교하면서 그 마스터플롯이 여성의 관점에서 변형, 전도되는 과정을 살펴보고 그것이 젠더 의식의 변화 과정이 맺는 상관관계를 드러내고자 했다. 그를 통해 젠더 의식의 변화를 소설적으로 형상화하는 구체적인 방식을 확인할 수 있었다.
Abstract
This thesis defines the odysseus masterplot combining Peter Books’s plot model with Freud’s discussion on the masculine sexual desire. It is thought that the masterplots have been maldistributed in modern korean narratives and the difference in them can explain the contemporary characteristic of that period. On that premise, I compared the odysseus masterplot in “Mujingiheng”(A Journey to Mujin(霧津)) with its counter narratives, such as Gong Ji-young’s Dogany(melting pot), Kim, Keum-hee’s “Ojik Han Saramui Chaji(only one person’s possession)”, Kang Wha-gil’s Dareun Saram(the next person), Lee Ju-ran’s “Neon Swipge Malhaetjiman(though you said simply)” and got to confirm that the change of gendered consciousness was projected in the transition of the masterplot.
