본원적 축적과 면역정치를 통한 비체들의 재배치 : 김정한의 후반기 소설을 중심으로

본고는 요산 김정한의 후기 소설을 대상으로 ‘비체’(abject)들이 다층적 지배권력에 의해 외부화되는 분리 과정을 계보화하고자 한다. 본원적 축적의 외부화, 생명 정치의 외부화, 면역정치의 외부화를 방법론으로 삼는다. ‘제국-식민’의 분할은 1960년대에 이르러 ‘자본-비체’의 분할로 역진화하였고, 공유지는 적산불하의 방식으로 자본권력의 사적 소유가 되었다. 이 과정에서 토착거주민들은 자신들의 생산 수단으로부터 외부화되었으며, 이는 김정한 소설의 마스터 플롯이기도 하다.

2장에서는 이를 ‘본원적 축적’의 관점에서 ｢모래톱 이야기｣, ｢독메｣, ｢평지｣를 분석하였다. 이 소설의 인물들은 ‘분리’와 ‘청소’의 대상으로 전락했다. 지배권력의 결탁에 의한 국유지 횡령은 무엇보다 법률의 지원 아래 합법적으로 이루어졌다는 점에서 더 비극적이다. 3장에서는 이를 법이 노예를 생산한다는 측면에서 분석하였다. 행정권력과 사법권력은 비대칭적으로 작동하면서 미필적 고의와 무책임함을 보여주었다. 4장에서는 생명정치의 작동을 매개로 ｢축생도｣, ｢과정｣, ｢입대｣를 분석했다. 생명정치 권력은 체계적인 모욕의 테크닉을 통해 도시 부랑자, 화전민, 광인, 질병보균자 등을 차별적 장소로 재배치했다. 5장에서는 면역정치의 측면에서 질병감염자들을 외부화하는 권력 작용을 분석했다. 전염병 환자들을 혐오적 아브젝트로 묘사하는 ｢제3병동｣과 나환자들을 근대의 외부로 재배치하는 폭력적 과정을 서사화 한 ｢인간단지｣가 사례들이다. 이를 통해 김정한 소설에서의 근대(성)을 자본과 국가권력의 결탁이 생산한 외부의 구축으로 정의하였다.

This paper analyzes the process by which ‘abjects’ are externalized by power in Kim Jeong-han’s novels. The methodology of the study is the externalization of primitive accumulation, the externalization of biopolitics, and the externalization of immunopolitics. In Kim Jeong-han’s novels, modernity is defined as the construction of the outside produced by power. Chapter 2 analyzes “The Story of the Sandbar” and “Dokmae” from the perspective of “primitive accumulation.” The characters are reduced to objects of “separation” and “cleansing.” The embezzlement of state-owned land is all the more tragic in that it was carried out by law. The administration and the judiciary operated asymmetrically. This point is analyzed in Chapter 3. Chapter 4 analyzes “Chu-saeng-do”, “Course” and “Enlistment” as the operation of biopolitics. Biopolitics relocated the bodies of abjects to discriminatory places while operating the technique of systematic insult. Chapter 5 analyzes the power function that externalizes those infected with diseases from the perspective of immunopolitics. “The Third Ward” and “Human Complex” are examples.
