해방직후 귀환 서사에 나타난 내셔널리즘의 형성과 젠더 : 전홍준의 「귀환」과 이금남의 「이향」을 중심으로
초록
이 논문은 해방직후 귀환하는 남성의 내셔널리즘의 형성과정이 여성의 행위를 통해 불/가능한 것으로 재현되고 있다는 것을 밝히고자 한다. 해방직후의 소설에서 조선으로 귀환하는 여성은 남성에 의지적이거나 수동적으로 재현되는 경우가 대부분이다. 그러나 여성의 행위가 가지는 균열과 전복은 예기치 않는 사건을 발생시키고 그것은 자기행위를 지닌 여성의 탄생을 예고하기도 한다. 여성과 함께 조선으로 귀환하는 남성의 경우 여성의 행위는 남성의 민족정체성 형성과 밀접한 관련을 맺고 있다. 「귀환」에서 민족지(民族地)로 상징되는 수연의 행위는 남성화자인 ‘나’가 해방된 조선의 민족정체성을 확보하는 데 주요한 배경막을 제공한다. 반면 「귀환」과 「이향」의 안나는 수연과 달리 외부자로서 상징된다. 안나는 조선으로의 귀환을 선택하지 않음으로써 민족주체로서 조선의 경계 내로 들어오고자 하는 남성의 욕망에 균열과 분열을 일으키고 그의 귀환을 추문으로 만들어버린다. 이러한 행위는 남성의 배경막이 아닌 자기행위를 지닌 여성주체로의 변모를 예고한다.
Abstract
The purpose of this article is to show that the process of the formation of the nationalism of men returning immediately after liberation is reproduced by women 's actions as being possible/impossible. Women who returned to Joseon in novels shortly after liberation are often reluctant or passive. However, the cracking and abduction of women's conducts can lead to unexpected events, which may be a sign of the birth of women with their own actions. In the case of men returning to Korea with women, the behavior of women is closely related to the formation of male national identity. The act of Su-Yeon, which is symbolized as ethnography ethnicity in the Return, provides a major background for securing the national identity of 'I'. On the other hand, Anna of Return is symbolized as an outsider, unlike Su-Yeon. By not choosing to return to Joseon, Anna causes cracks and divisions in the desire of men to enter the boundaries of Joseon as a national subject and makes his return to scandals. Such an action is not a backdrop for men but foreshadows a transformation into a woman as a subject with self-actions.
