『국자가에 서있는 그녀를 보았네』에 나타난 도시 주변부의 삶과 도시발견의 의미

조선족 중견 작가 김혁의 『국자가에 서있는 그녀를 보았네』에서는 작가가 창작 후기에서 밝힌 것처럼 도시로, 외국으로의 진출 과정에서 조선족 여성들이 겪게 되는 아픔을 다루고 있다. 나아가 작가는 중국의 산업화와 함께 대두된 조선족 사회의 위기를 염두에 두고 고심하면서 박신애라는 여주인공이 근원적인 아픔을 지니고 맞닥뜨린 운명 속에서 해결책을 찾지 못하고 죽게 되는 비극을 다루면서 의식적으로 자질구레한 인정세태를 묘사한 것이라기보다는 여성을 비롯한 사회의 소외계층에 주안점을 두고 민족적인 삶의 생리와 그 진로를 예술적으로 구명하고 있다고 본다.

소설에 등장하는 주요한 서사공간인 국자가는 주인공에게 있어 동경의 대상이기도 하지만, 다른 한편으로는 무관심과 경쟁과 긴장, 소외 등의 부정적인 대상으로 반영되고 있다. 시골태생의 가난하고 배운 것 없는 젊은 주인공 신애가 도시로 들어와 온갖 고난을 겪으면서 새로운 세계를 발견하게 된다. 소설에는 국자가에서의 삶에 대한 개인적인 경험 과정을 통해서 도시의 삶의 특성과 그 실체를 발견하고 좌절하는 과정을 담고 있다. 본고에서는 개인의 사랑과 죽음을 넘어선 한 공동체의 운명과 정체성에 대한 고뇌를 다룬 작품에 대한 구체적인 분석을 통하여 신애가 도시에 들어와서 도시를 전전하며 겪는 삶의 여정과 도시발견 등의 의미를 밝히고자 한다.

As is mentioned by himself in the postscript of the novel women in Juzi Street, in the novel the backbone of Korean-Chinese writer Jin Ge describes the pain of Korean-Chinese women in the "boom of going into town" and "boom of going abroad". Besides always being concerned about the crisis of the Korean-Chinese society, the writer also describes the tragedy that the heroine Park Shin-ae is stuck in a doomed pain and dies without finding a solution. Rather than just describes the trivial affairs, the writer focuses on women and other underprivileged members of society, which clarifies the nature and future of the ethnicity.

To the heroine, Juzi street, the main narrative space of the novel, is both an object of longing and a negative object of indifference, competition and alienation. Born in a poor family in a rural area, the young and uneducated heroine, Shin-ae migrates to the city and discovers a new world after going through all kinds of hardships. Through the narration of the personal life experience in the street, the novel describes the process of discovering the characteristics of city life and its essence. Based on a specific analysis of the community's destiny and identity that go beyond love and death, this paper examines the significance of Shin-ae's journey into the city and the discovery of city.
